On Thursday 2/3/11 sometime during the workday a house on the 2200 block of South Emerson Street was burglarized. The intruders entered through the dog door and may have removed items via the alley. The owners of the home encourage everyone to lock or remove their dog doors, and monitor any unusual activities in the alley. Please report any unfamiliar vehicles and certainly any activity at homes when the homeowner is not present.

On Friday 1/14/11 at 2:30 pm a female neighbor was running in the park when she observed a man "pleasuring himself" in his car, parked on the 2300 block of S. Emerson. She noted the license plate number, ran to the SWAT office in the park and reported the incident. The SWAT officer took her information and encouraged her to also contact the District 4 police station, which she did. She also identified the man from a set of photos. A similar incident had already been reported through our email list.

NEW DEVELOPMENT - The neighbor was contacted again by the authorities, and encouraged to press charges, even though the man did not have any prior record. Upon interviewing the accused, they came to the conclusion that if his behavior was stopped at this point it would possibly prevent any escalation to more severe or dangerous crimes.

Special props to this neighbor for getting fully involved for the good of the community. A great example for all of us!! All neighbors are encouraged to keep an eye out for suspicious behavior at the park, take cell phones with you when you walk, take note of license plate numbers in an event like this and notify the police immediately. The police said that it would be great to photograph the car, but do not confront the individual.

A driver's side window was broken out of a car on the 2200 block of South Emerson Street overnight on December 30th.  THere nothing in the car to steal, so perhaps this was an "investigation" to see if something was hidden inside. 
A large bag was stolen out of a visiting friend's pickup truck two weeks ago...2601 S. Sherman St. next door to the robbery last night... th in the morning hours. They stole a new flat screen TV.

A second garage in the 2100 block of South Sherman was also robbed on Friday, December 10
